Wrangler Festival
✨ The Wrangler Festival is one of the highlights of the year! ✨

Movie Night
Each year, the PTO hosts a fun-filled family movie night on the school track. Families are encouraged to bring blankets and low-seating chairs for comfort. You’re welcome to bring your own food and drinks (please note: no alcohol is permitted on school campus).

WelcoMEN Wranglers
The PTO’s newest initiative, WelcoMEN Wranglers, is all about encouraging and empowering our students.
On Friday mornings, dads, father figures, and anyone who fills that role will gather by the fire road gate to welcome students with positive affirmations, high fives, and fist bumps.
Join us in starting their day (and weekend!) with energy, confidence, and a smile.

Runner's Club
Held once a week between Labor Day and Spring Break, students head out to the track during recess to run laps and enjoy being active. The goal is to promote healthy exercise habits while having fun with friends.
Runner’s Club Starts Tuesday, September 9, 2025 (weather permitting).
We are so excited to welcome our SRE runners back to the track this year!

Room Reps (AKA Room Parent)
A Room Rep is a parent volunteer who works closely with the classroom teacher to support communication and activities. Responsibilities typically include creating and maintaining a class roster, sharing school event information with families, and assisting the teacher with special classroom events.

PBIS
Our PBIS program teaches students to be positive members of the SRE community using the BOOTS framework: Be Respectful, Own Your Actions, Operate Safely, Think Kindly, and Strive for Success.
Students earn tickets for demonstrating good behavior, setting a positive example, and participating in student services.
These tickets can be used to “shop” at the Boots Trolley or participate in special school experiences, encouraging responsibility, kindness, and success throughout the year.

Trunk or Treat
Trunk or Treat is a fun, safe, and interactive Halloween tradition at SRE! Families gather in the school parking lot, decorating their car trunks in creative and spooky themes. Children then trick-or-treat from trunk to trunk, just like going door to door in the neighborhood, but with all the “houses” much closer together!

Math Olympiad
The Math Olympiad program offers 4th–6th grade students the opportunity to compete in challenging math contests alongside peers from all 50 U.S. states and over 30 countries. Administered by MOEMS (Math Olympiads for Elementary and Middle Schools), the program aims to strengthen analytical and critical thinking skills in school-age children.

Science Fair
Our annual school-wide Science Fair invites students to explore a science question of their choice, conduct experiments, apply the scientific method, and present their findings on a poster board. During the school day, students meet with judges to explain their process and results, followed by an awards ceremony that evening. This exciting tradition fosters curiosity, creativity, and a lifelong love of scientific discovery in students of all ages.

Wizard of Oz
The second grade class is invited annually to participate in the musical play “The Wizard of Oz” which is an SRE tradition.
The play was designed specifically for our school. Each and every student that wants to participate will be cast in the show and have a chance to shine!

Book Fair
Literati Book Fairs are designed to get kids excited about reading. From a fantastic selection of expert-curated books to beautiful, artistic displays, this fair will inspire all of our students to become readers forever!

Variety Show
SRE students will have the opportunity to showcase their creative talents such as singing, dancing, doing magic, comedy, playing instruments, and so on. Students can participate in a solo or group act. Information for signups will be available several months before the show. Tickets will be sold to cover the costs of the event. Anyone and everyone is welcome to purchase a ticket to see the show!

International Night
On this night we get together with SRE friends and families to highlight our diverse cultural backgrounds. The event takes place in the cafeteria / Multi Purpose Room (MPR). SRE families display booths with food, art, and more, and there are live performances.

Expressions
Expressions is a school-wide art competition. The categories include visual arts, musical composition, film production, photography, literature and sculpture. An awards ceremony will follow.

An evening of stargazing with the Local Group Astronomy Club of SCV. Bring a blanket and have a picnic under the stars.

Art Appreciation
Parent volunteers help bring art lessons to classrooms, working under the guidance of our NSD Art Teacher. No artistic experience is required, just a willingness to support creativity and have fun with students.

Parent volunteers help organize activities during Teacher Appreciation Week each spring. Responsibilities typically include coordinating snacks, lunches, and small tokens of appreciation to celebrate and thank our teachers.
